Active Ingredients
Alginate

The alginate is derived from brown algae which can absorb more than several hundred times its weight in water and forms a tighten and moisture retaining surface film on the skin.

Mode of Action

Activation & Application of Natural Algae Massage Gel

Fresh activation with water / Activation Liquid 17SF, transforms the lyophilized product into hydro massage gel which is highly viscous. The gel releases natural algae complex (marine polysaccharides) onto skin surface which has high water binding capacities for long-lasting lubricating characteristics.

Beginning of Treatment Massage

Manual circular massage movements to enhance detoxification effect, detachment of corneocytes begins.

Hydration, Skin Barrier Restoration & Protection

Marine polysaccharides form a moisture binding layer on skin surface ensuring optimal conditions for water transfer into the skin.* This reduces Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL), deeply hydrates skin and smoothes lines & wrinkles.

Stimulation of Cell Energy

Environmental toxins are bound. The gel texture supports attachment of bacteria. Environmental toxins and bacteria are removed by rinse off.

Detachment & Removal of Corneocytes

Gel texture supports the attachment of dead corneocytes. By rinsing off, detached corneocytes are removed.

Effectiveness according to Studies

Restoration of the Natural Balance of the Skin

Measurable reduction in trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) with sustained efficacy for up to 14 days.
TEWL is reduced over the course of the study. In the areas treated with Natural Algae Massage Gel , the skin regenerated significantly (p<0,05) better than in the untreated areas.

TEWL = Loss of water through the skin, e.g. through perspiration. A high TEWL leads to dry skin. Environmental influences (e.g, pollution) can harm the skin, damage the natural skin barrier and TEWL is increased.

Skin Moisture Recovery

In the areas treated with Natural Algae Massage Gel, skin hydration improved significantly over the course of the study. After 2 weeks, hydration is +4,5% - even higher than measured before start of study.

Reduction of Skin Roughness

In the areas treated with the Natural Algae Massage Gel, skin roughness decreases significantly over the course of the study.
